I willingly pay the markup for books. Prefer the feel of a book in my hands over the fell of a smart phone or a kindle. The rest I agree with wholeheartedly.

Buying a paper book will never be an over payment.

I'd rather pay more for a real book than an e-book

I’m not surprised at these over priced items. I will never wear branded clothing as why should I give the company free advertising. Bonnie

I've been buying generic/store brands all my life! As an adolescent my Dad & Mom bought me a pair of Wrangler jeans & Monty Wards name brand. The Wranglers wore out before the Monty Wards did! Later in life I discovered that the only jeans that outlasted any others was Levi's but that was 40 years ago when Levi's were still produced in the U.S. of A! They might very well be the same as any other denims nowadays!

I never buy clothing that turns me into an unpaid walking billboard for any company.

Many years ago,I worked at a factory that produced central air conditioners. The only difference between the high priced and cheaper ones was stickers applied in the last process.

Paper books? Totally disagree with that one. And #5 has me puzzled. Buying a soft drink and popcorn at the cinema is more expensive, but it's all part of the experience. I will agree with the others, though.

That's why the rich get rich and the poor remain poor .Spend wisely and appreciate how hard you had to work to accumulate your disposable income without wasting it on overpriced services and goods.

Rx drugs are a huge rip off, we go to Mexico, same drug, same dosage, same maker about 1/10 of US prices, Canada drugs also much cheaper...

Cecilia Jorge Greene, Yes, they can be. But the contacts must be cleaned as soon as the cartridge comes out of the printer. Dried ink 'kills' the cartridge. kits are available at most stores, but with the throwaway society, a lot of customers just use landfill.

Knew most of these. I'm very particular about spending/wasting money on items that are branded over non- branded stuff. You're basically paying for the name.

hughbran: I'm in full agreement with you on this, I just want to hold a book in my hands and fully enjoy turning pages as I go for the finish line! I enjoy my e-books also, but much less than I enjoy holding a wonderful historic novel, or biography.

Pasta in a restaurant should be on this list. Fettuccine alfredo can be as high as $25 when it costs the restaurant $1.25 to make it.

Richard Perkins, We’ll today my library had a sale and I bought 5 hardcover books for $5. A good way to support them and my habit at the same time.
