Our natural satellite plays an important part in the lives of all humans - we believe that the Moon has a certain influence on our mood, health and even destiny. But some things about the Moon are still little-known and, of course, there are some myths to be exploded...
The side of the Moon which is turned away from us receives as much sunlight as the visible part.
In fact, the Moon has the form of a ball which is slightly flattened.
The moon doesn't make its own light, and the white color is just the result of very bright sunlight reflected on its surface. The real color of the Moon is dark gray, like asphalt.
Some people believe that objects "float up" on the Moon. That's wrong: the Moon has its gravity, it's just 6 times weaker than that of the Earth.
Anyway, the reasons of such an impressive illusion are still not explained.

Eileen Dunn, No wind - but, the movement when putting the thing up would've kept it moving for a while. Also, the horizontal rod across the top had been damaged by the astronauts when they were threading it through the top of the flag, so the flag looks like it has "ripples", but in fact, it's purely because it can't hang straight.

What does six times weaker mean? Is that another way of saying 1/6 of the gravitational full on earth? So if my scale would show my weight on earth is 120 pounds, would it only show 20 pounds on the moon? By the way, as I look out the window right now, I can see the Full Moon almost directly over head.

Randy Adams, interesting fact.. in one of these Quizzes there was a question.... How many flags we're put on the moon.. my answer was 1. To my dismay it was actually 6 !

Margie Algood , I was on the bench for thirteen years. During that time, I logged the number of people that came before me during a full moon that I committed to a mental institution.
I noticed NO increase of mental commitments during a full moon. However, I did notice a marked increase upon a severe shift of barometric pressure.
