#1 Needles
Today, most vaccines are delivered with a needle. In fact, such injections are quite expensive, which makes it hard to provide necessary care in developing countries. After all, many people are afraid of needles. As it turns out, the need for needles can be entirely eliminated one day. A new technology that could completely replace syringes is already being developed.
What does it look like? New vaccines are delivered by laying a tiny microneedle patch onto one's finger. The patches are made of dissolvable material, which means that they will dissolve straight away. The new technology is more effective and much cheaper than needle-delivered vaccines. Clinical trials already took place, and the results are promising.
